Think of it as college rock made by guys who’ve long since left the university. Well worth spinning.
He wrote some other kind words as well, drawing out the band’s obvious mid-’80s Minneapolis influences and reinforcing the band’s girth with the word “husky” (we’ve read “burly,” still waiting for “chunky”). With nary a Gin Blossoms or Matchbox 20 reference to be found, we dig this review.
